Your Guild presentation will get members excited about Appliqué!
Let me host a ZOOM meeting for your guild,
bring your quilting community together
for a fun, educational day or evening event
I love to show you how much fun applique can be!
If you can rotary cut, you can applique! I have designed a series of rulers (templates) that I use to rotary cut applique shapes up to 12 at a time. This makes fusible, machine stitched applique faster and easier than ever. Many quilters shy away from applique because they think it is too hard. Applique my way is fast and easy!
My Presentation for Guilds:
Guild members are presented with a 60-90 minute trunk show featuring my applique quilts made with Rotary Cut Applique techniques. Members see first-hand how each of the shapes are cut, fused, and stitched as I demonstrate from my own sewing room! Get a front row seat with three camera angles: One for the trunk show, one close-up on my cutting table, and one at the sewing machine.
Presentations are hosted by Sue on the ZOOM meeting platform.
A typical meeting agenda:
10 minutes: Opening remarks from the guild, intro to today's program featuring your program chairperson
60 minute: ZOOM presentation, trunk show, and demonstration by Sue
30-60 minutes: Guild Business Meeting (Sue would spotlight your members as they have the floor)
15-30 minutes: Guild Show and Tell (Spotlight on each member showing a quilt or project to the group)
5 minute closing remarks by Sue
5 minutes to close the meeting by the guild president or program chair
The time frame can be adjusted to fit your specific needs and goals.
Who sets up the ZOOM meeting?
Sue's event coordinator Penny will set up the secure, password protected Zoom meeting. Penny will send the guild a meeting invitation and info for members on how to get on a Zoom meeting (if your guild doesn't have a history of Zoom meetings!) Members will need to RSVP to get the direct link to the Zoom meeting and a bonus 20% off coupon for our website. Members can join the meeting with audio and video (to be "in" the room) or they can watch the meeting without being visible to other members. Do you let members invite guests? That is OK with me! Why do members RSVP to our event coordinator? There is a limit to the number of people who can join the Zoom meeting. If we go over 75 members, we will need to bring in a moderator and upgrade to the next ZOOM business level. Half an hour before your regular meeting time, Sue will open the meeting so everyone can try out the Zoom features. Sue will go over the features of Zoom and how to optimize the Zoom experience from your computer, tablet or phone.
Have some fun together in half and full day Workshops:
Taking a ZOOM workshop with Sue is just like being there! My most popular workshops are No Waste Drunkard’s Path by machine (4 hours), Clever Clam Shells by machine (4 hours), Christmas Baubles (6 hours) and Melissa’s Quilt (6 hours). All these projects are a good hands-on introduction to Rotary Cut Applique! I specialize in beginners! Intermediate to advanced quilters will also love the unique applique cutting method. Guild workshops can be reserved for the entire guild, or you can get a group from your guild to jump into an existing workshop. We currently have three workshops per month that are offered to the general public so individuals can take workshops. You can view the current workshops here: Live Online Workshops by Sue Pelland
A template is required for each student in the workshop. The templates range from $23.95 to $27.95 and are very versatile. During the guild presentation I will show a half dozen uses for each template. Members can use the 20% discount one-time use coupon code that they get in their ZOOM invitation.
Presentations are $350 for up to 75 people, $400 for groups with 75-300 people. Guilds are welcome to charge a registration fee for members who sign up for the meeting. This allows the guild to offset the expense and potentially make a little money for your guild. Other guilds provide the presentation free for members as a member benefit.
Guilds can sponsor a workshop with or without a presentation to the guild first.
Guilds can request a specific workshop when they book the workshop date. When reserving a date the guild must guarantee a minimum of 10 workshop participants at $30 USD each (regular price for these workshops is $49 and $69 price for the 4 or 6 hour workshops). Guilds are welcome to book the entire workshop, 30 participants at $25 each. I would attempt to fill any unused spaces if the guild does not fill the workshop at 30 people. The guild pays a minimum of $300 (workshop may have some additional participants outside the guild) and a maximum of $750 to keep the workshop completely private. The guild can charge up to my regular price for the workshop, so the guild can potentially make a little money. All member/participant fees are handled by the guild.
Half the payment is due at the time the presentation and/or workshop is booked. The balance is due one week prior to the presentation and/or workshop.
Fees can be paid by check payable in US Dollars. Credit card payments incur a 4% processing fee.
Free Mini-Workshop held each month!
If you are planning your guild's programs for next month or next year, you may want to sit in on a scheduled ZOOM mini-workshop. This will show you my teaching style and how much fun we have!
