I am excited to be leaving for Quilt Market in Salt Lake City tomorrow. Joanne, Gina and I are almost packed and ready to go and it is sure to be an exciting trip for us all. Joanne and Gina have never experienced Quilt Market before, and most of you probably haven’t either. Quilt Market is solely a trade show for quilt and fabric shops to see what is new in the quilting world. I will be introducing four new patterns at quilt market, including this quilt called Eve’s Garden. Market gives me the opportunity to view the latest fabric lines, tools, patterns and color trends for the upcoming year. I know I will be inspired by what I see. If at all possible, I will update my blog while we are there with photos of the show. You will be amazed at the sheer size of Quilt Market if I can capture it in my photos. I look forward to spending time with Rana who has just designed a new pattern using my Norme Leaves Galore template. I met Rana last November at Quilt Festival in Houston. Rana has just started her pattern design company, and this will be her first Quilt Market! Congratulations! I also hope to network with some of the fabric and batting companies to rally support for the Be Like Brit quilt making effort. Be like Brit is a charity organization that is building an orphanage in Haiti in memory of Brittany who was lost in the Haitian Earthquake last year. Brits family would like 100 quilts for the beds at the orphanage. Joanne and I will be helping with this effort, securing supplies and volunteers for the quilt making event in June. Check out BeLikeBrit.org online for a walk through of the proposed new orphanage! Off to do a final packing. Talk to you in my next post from Quilt Market! Sue
