I just love a good quilt show! Last Sunday, I took a walk around the Thimble Pleasures Quilt Guild Show. This was the first quilt show for our local guild in four years! I finished “True Colors of Springtime” just in time for the show. Here is a sneak peek!
As I was walking round the show, and giving you a first hand look at some of the lovely quilts, I ran into Deb Wendt and she told us about her Vote Quilt.
Then as I came around the corner to show you the True Colors quilt, I found out that our quilt won a ribbon! I was so pleased to send this video over to my machine quilter, Pam Bowen from the Quilted Seahorse. Would you like to see the video? Click on the blue words here: Thimble Pleasures Quilt Guild Show
This week was the 30th anniversary of our guild. I joined when I was pregnant with Lauren, 29 years ago! I am so blessed to belong to such a wonderful group of quilters!
Quilt shows really make a guild come together. Everyone volunteers at the show, and we have a hospitality room for the vendors and volunteers. Whenever we have a show, friendships are formed, bonds are strengthened and everyone works together with a common goal, to spread our love of quilting.
Having a booth at the show allowed me to have a home base for people to come visit me, and I was able to share my love of applique with everyone who attended the show.
I will miss traveling to quilt shows like this one, but I will be back for my own guild show for years to come!
Happy Applique! Sue Pelland
