Block-A-Day 2022 Temperature Quilt – Starting January 3, 6-8 pm EST
During the Temperature Quilt Block-A-Day, there will be Zoom meetings to get you started (Monday, January 3) and quarterly sessions to get your quilt appliqued, pieced and quilted in 2022.
Throughout, we will encourage each other to make two applique squares each day to represent the high and low temperatures for each day of the year. This will take some persistence and the support of a wonderful community!
The planning sessions are on Monday, November 8 (with special guest Karla from Cherrywood) and on Monday, December 6. During the planning session(s), Sue will show you how to find historical temperature data so you can plan your quilt and your colors.
Cherrywood Fabric Kits are available:
Pre-Order the custom Cherrywood Fabrics Kit HERE if you want to make your quilt from these glorious, hand-dyed fabrics that look like suede! Choose from the 22 fabric kit alone or add the Background fabric (barnacle).
Quilt As You Go:
This project can be quilted in “seasons” if you want to quilt it yourself on a domestic sewing machine. The first session in April will help you get your winter season (January, February and March) pieced and ready for quilting. The second session in Summer will have you quilting the spring season, the applique rows you just finished. In October, I will demonstrate how to assemble two quilted “seasons” together using a unique method from Pauline’s Quilter’s World in Australia. I’ll show you a novel way to quilt any size border, and add it to your QAYG quilt center. Our final session will be a celebration of 2022 and your finished Temperature Quilt!
Join the fun and make a Temperature Quilt in 2022!
