Fast and Fabulous
Rotary Cut Applique
Do some of your guild members have "Applique Anxiety"?
Guild members will thank you for adding easy applique to their skill set!
Hi! I'm Sue Pelland, and I am addicted to Applique. I know that some quilters consider "Applique" to be an advanced quilt-making technique. My goal is for you and your guild members to experience and embrace a new way to applique that is even easier than piecing, especially for beginners. If you can rotary cut, you can applique!
I've designed a series of patented rulers (templates) that can be used to rotary cut 15 applique shapes up to 16 at a time. Let me demonstrate these "workhorse" tools that are the secret sauce for making gorgeous applique quilts with a whole lot less time and effort!
Not a typical "Trunk Show"
Guild members will be delighted by a truly unique 60-90 minute presentation. I'll invite you into my sewing room and show you a wide variety of applique quilts from traditional to modern. Throughout the interactive trunk show, I'll demonstrate "Rotary Cut Applique" techniques used to make the individual shapes in these beautiful quilts. The presentation is friendly and informal. Guild members will learn the secrets of soft snuggly fusible applique quilts with my favorite fusible web. Members will be amazed at the speed and accuracy of the cutting method and the variety of quilts that can be made with this simple method. Every member will have a front-row seat with three camera angles for the trunk show, close-up on my cutting table, at my sewing machine.
Brand new quilters will find raw edge applique easier than precision piecing, while experienced quilters will find this new take on an old favorite refreshing and inspiring! There is something for everyone as I share a novel approach to applique.
"A huge thank you for a wonderful program and lecture. Your presentation is so enjoyable - chock full of information, quilts to show the end results, and "how quick and easy" appliqué can be. As you know, every Guild has one member that criticizes everything - well - you won her over and she's a traditional hand quilter - she loved the program. ~~Jeanne, Berkshire Quilters
Guild meetings
A 60-90 minute interactive presentation "Fast And Fabulous Rotary Cut Applique", Trunk Show, informal demonstration peppered with Q & A. (Live on ZOOM. Sue will not be traveling outside of New England for "in person" presentations)

Have some fun together in half and full-day Workshops!

Drunkard's Path

Clever Clamshells

Christmas Baubles

Melissa's Quilt
After experiencing the presentation, your members will be asking for a hands-on workshop! Zoom workshops are almost like being there in the same room. I have taught over 25 zoom workshops on Zoom since mid-April, 2019 and the reviews are overwhelming! The most popular workshops are No Waste Drunkard’s Path (4 hours), Clever Clam Shells (4 hours), Christmas Baubles (4 hours), and Melissa’s Quilt (6 hours).
Workshops are more fun with up to 20 participants. Small workshops give each person more personal attention, but larger workshops offer a more festive atmosphere with more works in progress to share! Participants will want their own template to use in the workshop. The templates range from $23.95 to $27.95.
Hi Sue!
My inbox is filled with raves about yesterday’s class and how much everyone enjoyed you and your teaching style. With so much excitement, I’d love to let them know when you are coming back to us next year. It was a joy to meet you in person, and your class was so exciting, and how I wished I had participated. You just know I will be taking your next class for sure! Thanks for giving our members such an fun and unique workshop yesterday!
