MQX East was a great success for Sue Pelland Designs. It was my first time in a huge double booth, and my first time introducing Joann Bertrand to the Quilt show world! Joann has just started sewing with me, trying to get a load of samples and patterns ready for Quilt Market in Salt Lake City. Joanne is an old friend with kids the same ages as mine and she lives just 5 minutes down the street. I am excited to introduce Joann to all of you, so stop in our booth at Quilt Market in May, Quilter’s Unlimited (Chantilly, VA) in June or Mancuso, Oaks PA in September! I will be taking a break from shows in July and October, as my sister Gina is getting married in July, and my daughter and I will be traveling to Europe in August!!
I will be adding detailed instructions on making a poinsettia to the website in May. I have been working on a placemat pattern, and the poinsettia was hard to cut with the 3″ template until I figured out this great new trick!! Now the poinsettia is even easier than in my Christmas Ribbons pattern…so if you had trouble making the poinsettia before, this will make it simple and more beautiful. I just finished all the photos for the pattern, and will post instructions under tips and tricks as soon as I am able to get it done in website form! Until then, here is a preview of the placemat pattern, with three flower options: Poinsettia, Daisy and Sunflower. Wish me luck getting all four new patterns finished and printed for Spring Quilt Market, Salt Lake City in three weeks! Until then, I will be stitching like crazy…Sue
