Fun with Free Downloads!

I had a wonderful day with my sister, Maria, my Mom and Lois Palmer today at my house. Lois was appraising all my quilts that I use in my business. Here is my plug about appraisals...if you have quilts and they get lost, stolen, burned or flooded, the insurance value is about $20, the cost of a new BLANKET! That is all I have to say. Get them appraised and insured! Lois evaluated my business quilts, but also the beautiful hand applique and hand quilted wedding quilt that my Mom made for Jeffrey and I.

Celebrating Lauren!

Dear Friends, I am off to Europe on Tuesay of next week, but before I go there is much to catch up on! Firstly, for those of you who know my sister Gina, (also known as my right hand lady at quilt shows!) she is getting married on Saturday!! We are so excited for Gina and Jim as they start their life together. Congratulations!!

Mancuso Pennsylvania National Quilt Show

I am pleased to be teaching a half day workshop at Mancuso's Pennsylvania National Quilt Show in September. If you have purchased your templates from me at other local shows, but haven't had the chance to try them out yet, this is your class!! Take time for yourself to learn something new, and explore the possibilities open to you with the Leaves Galore Templates. We will not be working on a specific quilt, but will explore several techniques that I use in my patterns. This will give you a good overview, including samples that you can take home, without starting yet another quilt!

Fun at MQX East

MQX East was a great success for Sue Pelland Designs.  It was my first time in a huge double booth, and my first time introducing Joann Bertrand to the Quilt show world!  Joann has just started sewing with me, trying to get a  load of samples and patterns ready for Quilt Market in Salt Lake City.  Joanne is an old friend with kids the same ages as mine and she lives just 5 minutes down the street.  I am excited to introduce Joann to all of you, so stop in our booth at Quilt Market in May,  Quilter's Unlimited (Chantilly, VA)  in June or Mancuso, Oaks PA in September!  I will be taking a break

My New Elna Excellence

Many years ago, Mom and I had a quilt shop, and we sold Elna sewing machines. Today, I am sewing on an Elna again! I was at the New Jersey Quilt Fest and had time to sit down at the Elna Excellence and work with it for a while. WOW!!! Do I love this machine! Cathy Racine at Charlton Sewing Center in Charlton, MA had shown it to me a few days earlier, but I didn't really have time to sit and sew. At the show I was convinced I HAD to have it, soooooo, it arrived last Friday and I have been having fun ever since!!

New Jersey Quiltfest

Having fun in New Jersey demonstrating Leaves Galore and the Quilter's Chalk Line! Come by booth 312 to see my sister Gina and I. You will enjoy seeing what we have been collaborating on! Gina is an artist, and my templates have gotten her inspired to enter OUR world and paint with fabric! I will upload photos as soon as I get home. Until then, have fun playing with curves! Sue
