Promise Ring Quilt
There are a few corrections/additions to the Promise Ring Pattern if you bought it before September 2011.
The finished sizes of the quilts are:
Wall, 28″ x 28″
Lap/crib, 46″ x 54″
Queen, 84″ x 100″
Batting should be cotton batting if you are going to do your decorative stitching through all three layers. That way you can add each applique element (steps G, H and I) and stitch as you go. If you use poly batting, the batting will melt as you fuse the shapes down, and you will not get any loft.
Instructions for Crib/Lap size and Queen size quilts (page 8):
Crib/lap size Promise Ring Quilt: Cut one background panel 34″ x 42″. Mark a 4 x 5 grid of 8″ squares on the center panel, leaving 1″ all around.
Queen size Promise Ring Quilt: Cut two background panels, 42″ x 66″.
From Pre-fused fabrics, cut 320 2 1/2″ leaves with the Petite Leaves Galore template for leaves (green in photo).
From Pre-fused fabrics, cut 640 2 1/2″ leaves with the Petite Leaves Galore template for flower petals (red/orange in photo).
Mark grid lines on two background panels in 8″ squares, centering grid lines on fabric to leave 1″ border around all four sides. Mark one 66″ edge of each panel with the word “seam” on outside of the grid. Do not place applique over this seam line.
