Meet Sue
I’m Sue Pelland, mother, daughter, quilter, designer, lover of fabric! I have been a quilter for over 30 years now. That makes me 80 or so right? Not so. I started quilting at 12, alongside my Mom. I’m still quilting and I’m happy to say, my mom is too! Thanks, Mom, for getting me interested in sewing, cooking, gardening, and of course quilting! I am very grateful for this gift, and being able to share that gift with so many others.
Over the years, both teaching at my mom’s quilt shop in Rhode Island, and later teaching in my own home in Upton MA, I found I have a passion for teaching new quilters. I love making new quilting friends and getting them addicted to quilting.
I am always trying to find new and better ways to teach quilting, and faster methods so busy quilters can get more done. I have developed a new method of cutting applique shapes to make fast and beautiful quilts. You can find the Leaves Galore Templates on my products page. You can order them right here on this website!
I launched my new tool and pattern company last May at Spring Quilt Market, 2010. Since then my templates are finding their way across the country and the world! Retail customers can buy online, while Wholsale customers can contact me above, and we can set up an account for you. My tools and patterns are also available through distributors such as Brewer, Checker, EE. Schenck and Moda/United Notions.
You can read my blog to read lots about my family, including my husband of 20 years (today!) Jeff, and my kids, Lauren, Timmy and Jason. You might find me sharing the trials of raising a teenager with Chronic Mylogenous Leukemia and hopefully you’ll continue to hear the good news of his remission! More often than not, I will share new pattern ideas, and will be looking for feedback on my tools and templates.
So come back often, grab a cup of tea, and check on the progress of my son, my life, my business and my latest quilting ideas. Stop in any time…you will always find me at home!
